PLAIN WHITE TEES

While Festival Season™ officially kicked off last month with Coachella and Kanye’s ‘Honestly, God probably wouldn’t approve of this’ Sunday Service, today Chicago’s notoriously-late-in-the-game Riot Fest finally got around to releasing this year’s lineup. With Blink-182 headlining (likely timed with a new album release), one of Slayer’s final shows, a Bikini Kill reunion, and Bloc Party and Dashboard Confessional playing their seminal hits Silent Alarm and The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most in full, there’s a band for the entire range of sad young boys to full grown sad men.

Plain White T’s, but not a single white tee in sight. So subversive.

Whatever-the-opposite-of-notably — unremarkably? — missing from this year’s lineup: Plain White T’s, owner of summer 2007’s biggest woe is me, poolside cookout banger. While the PWT’s (as they were known in pop-punk circles as they toiled in relative obscurity for the early 2000’s) can be found touring greater California’s B markets this summer, it doesn’t mean you can’t get your fill of (not so plain) white tees for the last few weeks of shorts+long sleeves weather.
